Sales Person for Heavy Haul Division – Seattle, WA

Nelson Trucking is seeking an experienced Sales Person for our Heavy Haul division to drive new sales and increase existing business. The ideal candidate is dialed into the Seattle heavy constriction market and knows what jobs are currently bidding, what projects will be occurring in the coming months, and all of the key players in the industry.

Nelson Trucking has been a fixture in the trucking and construction industry for over 100 years. With rigging, heavy haul, general freight, and warehousing business segments, we are a go-to vendor for key players in the industry and are looking to continue to expand our heavy haul department.

This role will be responsible for bringing in fresh business to the heavy haul division.

Duties:

  • Prospect new business and secure additional business from existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Conduct site visits and ensure projects are on track.
  • Maximize revenue by advising customers on the projects.
  • Provide high levels of customer service while enhancing operational profitability.
  • Create and implement sales, marketing campaigns, and customer service presentations for clients.
  • Conduct meetings with appropriate stakeholders regarding potential and landed business.
  • Negotiates and closes sales and conducts follow up with customers upon completion to assess customer satisfaction and future needs.
  • Identify and attend appropriate trade shows.
  • Collaborate with departments to assist in providing customers with projected due dates, troubleshoot and problem solve various delivery and other issues, and assist with quoting as requested.
  • Prepare new sales projections.
  • Cold call on new business.

Potential additional duties:

  • Sales forecasting/marketing materials/sales presentations/strategic planning/oversee sales staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience within the Seattle Construction market in a position with increasing responsibility.
  • 5+ years driving new sales in the construction/heavy haul industry.
  • Expert level competency regarding the Seattle commercial construction market.
  • Proven track record of initiating and closing new and existing business while exceeding sales targets.
  • Heavy Haul knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable and adept with cold calling.
